My Gribs did not go that far, good to have you to see the whole picture.
With the delay we will have to go the full distance in one go. And 25/30 kts from behind is OK. For your dates, I suppose you refer to departure from the entrance of the Magallanes strait, it will take us a day to get there.

Hi Svenning,
The trouble is not saturday but sunday where wind pick's up again. For now it still looks that there is a possibility to leave on monday or tuesday. You can tgo near the coast where with NW there will be less wind but strong gusts wuill come falling from the mountains!!!!!
Another issue is that with strong northerly wind against the malvinas current you may get very choppy seas.

Now it is calm but from 1/03 00 utc N 20 kts outside and tomorrow (thursday) a cold front passes by and the N-wind goes up to 30 kts. Friday wind backs to NW and calms down. On saturday wind calms further down and shifts even to SE. BUT on sunday 4/03 a depression passes just south of the Horn and wind goes up to NW 35 kts on sunday 18 utc.

After that it very quickly calms down. The only thing to keep an eye at is a low that passe over Cabo Blanco on monday and gives 30-35 kts N-wind , on the north side of Cabo Blanco. As the low heads east on tuesday the wind backs to SW, 25-30 kts at first (but you can take to from behind so perhaps manageable???) and then calms down and the wind stays in the SW-W corner.
