Hi Fritz,
Very good. We spent the night at Pt Toro (S 55 04,9 W 067 04,4) and left 19/1 0900 UTC to go south 55 nm to Cape Horn. Then we set course for Deception Island (S 62 59,7 W 060 40) - 160 deg and about 470 nm. In total, we should be there in about 3 1/2 days. So our positions and times are somewhat different from your run.
Outside is drizzel and 15 kts wind at 250 deg. It feels good to finally be underway.
Regards,
Svenning

Hi Svenning,
Very good news! All looks ver well!
For the moment wednesday 18/1 09 utc NW 20 kts. The next few hours
backing to W. The increase in wind is much lesser than yesterday's run: at 18 utc only W
25 kts, no more 30 kts.
Ar thursday 19/1 00 utc: W 20-25 kts.
That means you can leave today whenever you are ready. Perhaps for safety
wait after 18 utc if the increase should be stronger and take the big jump
at thursday 19/1 00 utc?
Another good thing is the little low on friday wich is less devellopping
so wind is not backing to S but stays W.
My calculation below starts at 06 utc on Thursday 06 utc!
Thursday 19 jan
WSW 20 kts -> NW 15 kts
Friday 20 jan
NW 15 kts -> NW 20 kts -> W 10 kts
Saturday 21 kts
W 10 kts -> W 25 kts
Sunday 22 kts
W 20 kts -> WSW 20 kts
Monday 23 kts
WSW 20 kts -> SW 20 kts
Greetz,
Fritz
Have a great passage! Best, Seb
