We have had a good nights sailing with cutter jib and fully reefed main, 25/35 kts wind from W. Posn at 0330 utc: S 60 13,5 W 65 33,8.
Do you think that icing could be a problem when we get there? We do not have ice charts, but we expect the route to Deception island to be ice free. Can you verify.

Today temperatures at the antarctic penninsula: -5° and -3°C at Palmer and
Rothera. Near Ronne Ice shelf: -13°C.
Rest of the week temperatures stay just below zero (between 0 and -3°C).
On saturday 21/1 between 21 utc and sunday 22/1 00 utc wind increases to
30-35 kts. So routing: better to stay a bit more to the west so you can
ease the sheets as wind increases!!
Saturday 21 kts
W 25 kts -> W 30 kts at 21 utc (3 hours long)
Sunday 22 kts
W 25-30 kts -> WSW 10 kts
Monday 23 kts
SW 15 kts -> SW 20 kts
