The new run of the model shows an active thermal equator to the south of the Cape Verdes. Within the next 5 to 6 days it is a train of convective cells, with frequent showers and thundery outbreaks. What is your concern about sailing in those conditions?
On Sunday there is deep depression travelling just to the south of the CV's. If we would leave on Saturday I am afraid that we will be caught by this low and this could turn out very windy. So if we would leave on Thursday, we could have covered enough distance to escape from this depression. If you want to wait until it came across, than we will have to wait till the earliest Tuesday next week.
Bear in mind that leaving on Thursday includes quite intense showery activity.
Can you let me know your thoughts about this, Svenning. Anyways we will calculate a new routage with tomorrows new products. Can you also give me an idea about your general weather conditions the last few days?
